MONELCA was born in 1989 with the objective of meeting the needs of the Central American market on the specific area of electro mechanical constructions. However, the development of our country allowed for the opportunity to venture in other fields that has made possible our success and world recognition. For 20 years the company has had featured events such as: 1992: We started to work in expanding our national market, we built our new office building.
1994: Construction of our industrial facilities in San Juan Opico, El Salvador. This plant was built to provide tanks and Steel structures to the national market. In the same year we won important contracts for the construction of hydraulic works, sewage works and buildings, starting operations as general contractors, executing civil, electrical and mechanical works for integral projects.
1996: The Company obtained the UL 58 certification for the fabrication of single walled horizontal steel tanks to be use underground and to store flammable liquids under atmospheric pressure. From that moment on the opportunity to export tanks to Central America was opened.
1998: We signed a contract as licensees for Orange States Industries, an American, company specialized in the design and manufacturing of canopies, with presence in the Central America region and The Caribbean. This alliance opened the market to supply and install canopies for the most important oil companies in the Central America region.
A partnership for engineering supply related with the construction of civil and electromechanical activities for generation projects was established with Caterpillar, starting the development of generation projects in the Central America region.
1999: The UL-1746 certification was obtained for the manufacturing of double wall horizontal steel tanks for underground storage of flammable liquid fuels under atmospheric pressure. With this certification we started the fabrication of double containment tanks, the primary tank is metallic and the secondary tank is made of fiberglass.
2004: MONELCA is certified ISO 9001:2008 in its General contractor, Equipment Rental and Steel Transformation processes.
2009: MONELCA Group's new image is presented with the three new companies: GENERAL CONTRACTOR, INDUSTRIAL and RENTAL.
2010: The expansion of the industrial plant in San Juan Opico, El Salvador starts. This is part of a preparation process for new projects in the Central America region, the Caribbean and the northern part of South America.
2010, monelca obtains ASME certification for the manufacture of pressure vessels.
